Research Program 1.0 is a one-month free program for high school students who want to learn how to conduct research and work on their own research projects.
The program is not just a collection of lessons about conducting research. Each student will work on their own research project throughout the program and apply what they learn directly to that project.
The process follows the main stages of research:
🔬 Question → Introduction → Literature Review → Methodology → Analysis → Conclusion → Publication
This means that throughout the program, you will work through the research process starting from forming a research question, working with sources, literature review, methodology, data and analysis, academic writing, and taking your research to the next stage.
🗓 Duration: 1 month
📚 Lessons: 2 sessions per week
💻 Format: online
💰 Cost: free
Outside the lessons, each participant will independently work on their own research project and complete the assigned tasks. Whenever possible, we will also try to invite guest speakers to the program.
We brought together mentors whose strengths cover different stages of the research process.
Our mentors include UWC students, students who have participated in and been accepted to strong international research programs such as Lumiere and Pioneer, students who have taken their research to the publication stage, a mentor currently conducting research under the mentorship of a Harvard PhD and Indiana University Professor Emeritus, students who have reached out through cold emails and had meetings with professors from universities such as Yale, Cambridge, and UChicago, and students who have worked on research with local professors.
Our team also has real experience in quantitative analysis, literature reviews, survey design, experimental methodology, lab research, fieldwork, interviews, academic writing, and the publication process.
Most importantly, each mentor will teach students the areas of research they are strongest in.
The program is for high school students.
Previous research experience is not required. You can apply even if you have never conducted research before.
There are also no restrictions on the field of research. You can work on a project in Economics, STEM, social sciences, or any other field.
